Welcome to the new on-line home of Sacred Heart of Jesus Sports. The SHJ Sports website is a one year trial to see if the the players, coaches, team managers, parents, school, and the SHJ Athletic Department can recieve enough benefit from this site to justify the expenditure and the time to maintain the site.

At  this site you will be able register on-line for upcoming seasons, check schedules, receive optional email and/or text message notifications of practices, games, cancellations, etc, sign-up to volunteer at games and tournaments, make online donations to the sports program, buy SHJ merchandise, register for camps, receive timely updates about sports related news and events, and a whole host of other communication and coordination capabilities.

Online Registration for SHJ Varsity, JV, and Widgets Girls Volleyball is Now Open

Online registration is now available through our new on-line registration and team management system.  Please go to www.shjsports.org to register.  Registration closes on 2/21/10 and registrations after that date are NOT guaranteed a spot on a team.  Please note - there will be no paper registration option this year.  If you do not have access to a computer for registration please contact the AD at 303-443-0036.

The initial registration process is simple and takes just a few minutes to enter both parents and your first player.  After that, future players or sports take about a minute.  If you are already in the system just enter your email and password after you select your registration program.  All of your (and your player's ) information will already be there.  Please double check it to make sure it is current.   if you are not already in the system, here is a step by step approach to register:

1) Go to www.shjsports.org
2) Click on Register Online on the lefthand side.
3) Find the program you want to register for (e.g. Girls Varsity Volleyball)
4) Click on the program title or on the Register Button on either side
5) Click Continue at the warning about being 18 or older
6) Fill in your email address under Email and click Submit - the system will send you a temporary email to use to login.
7) Go to your email and get your temporary password.
8) Go back to your browser and enter your password in at Password
9) Enter your information, followed by your spouse, followed by the player - the system will walk you through the process.
10) Register any additional players in your family.

First, I would like to thank everyone that helped to make our December Sacred Heart Tournament such a success.  Thanks to all those that volunteered their time, we were able to contribute a net of $3,484.89 to the SHJ Athletics Operating Budget.

To provide some perspective to that number, with that contribution we will essentially cover all regular season basketball expenses for the year including: Referee Fees for 67 JV/Varsity games, Referee Fees for 32 Widget Games, along with League Registration Fees for all of our teams - 7 CSAL and 4 Widget.  With this significant contribution covering our largest outlay of funds (basketball season), we can then apply the money raised from our camps, concession revenue, and other fund raising activities to softball, volleyball, and baseball operating costs, along with pre & post season tournament expenses for basketball.  The great support and effort put forth around this tournament allows Sacred Heart of Jesus to continue providing one of the best grade school Athletic Programs in the Denver Metro Area, without charging ANY Sports Participation Fees.

Again, thanks so much to everyone that volunteered your time.  I know how difficult that can be with our busy schedules.  Without you we simply could not put on such a great event.  Please understand how valuable your time is:  With almost $3500 to the bottom line, each game you volunteered for was worth almost $80 in actual contribution to the program.  Your time and effort is truly appreciated. Thank You.

I need to also send out a very special thanks to our Tournament Directors, Jeanne Bovine and Sandy Wilson.  Jeanne and Sandy put on one of the best organized and well run tournaments I have ever been involved with.  Without exception, during my time at the tournament, some coach, AD, or parent would come up to me and compliment SHJ on what an outstanding and well run event it was.  That is all thanks to Sandy and Jeanne and the many, many, hours of time they put in before and during the tournament to make sure it went off perfectly.  Please join me in thanking them for an amazing job.

And for those of you that were not able to volunteer for the Holiday Tournament, don't worry, you (and all those who did volunteer) get another chance to contribute to the SHJ Athletics cause.  CSAL Post-Season tournament play starts this weekend and goes through Saturday February 20th.  During that time SHJ is hosting 4 tournament sessions: Saturday 2/6 (3 games), Wednesday 2/10 (3 games), Thursday 2/18 (3 games), and Saturday 2/20 (5 games).  The actual brackets are now available so check with your team manager. Not only is this a great opportunity to cheer on SHJ teams at home, but it translates to more revenue for the program.  The sign up process is below.  If you haven't volunteered before, now is your chance.  If you have, thank you, and we need your continued support. Please sign up now and let's make the CSAL Post-Season Tournament as successful as our Holiday Tournament.

Parent Volunteering - Process

1) Go to www.shjsports.org
2) Click on Master Schedule (left-hand side)
3) Click the whistle icon at the top of the page.
4) Enter your email and password (if you do not remember, or do not know your password enter your email only and a password will be emailed to you).  Click Submit.
5) Go to the dates you want to volunteer (CSAL Tournament starts 2/6) by hitting Next or by using the week-by-week drop down at the top.
6) Any game that needs volunteers will have a drop-down box that says Not Assigned over to the right under the Ofl (Officials) column (next to the Type column)
7) Select the role you want (Book, Clock, Door, Food , Setup, Takedown).  Note - if someone else has already selected that role it will not appear in the drop down list.
8) When the role turns green, you are scheduled for that role for that game.
9) Go to another game and sign up again (and again, and again ...)

Once you have signed up, you can see a complete schedule of the games you have volunteered for: Go to the Home page. Click on Officials Area on the left-hand side.  Click on My Schedule at the top.  This will show you all your volunteer slots.  Note - Ignore the My General Availability calendar, this is not used for the self-assignment method we are doing.
